It has been a long time since I wrote anything about Indian Railways at here. There were many things but was avoiding to criticize the lifeline of Indian common man.But It is not possible to face problem and not to talk about. If we do not talk about it, how the problem would be heard and rectified?
The railway line from Ghaziabad to New Delhi Railway Station has a great load. Most of the trains running from this line take much time to reach New Delhi from Ghaziabad. The distance is not more than half an hour if I can write in terms of time but most trains are taking more than an hour and half. How the condition will improve?

Its like fighting a war, if one wants to buy a ticket online.

Yes, I am right. I have met so many people, but all have same complaint, they were not able to tickets online.
Even somebody told me that, when he failed to buy ticket on time, he went to an agent in Mumbai and bought ticket in black and travelled on somebody else's name.
This problem is growing, Indian railway should look into the matter and resolve the problem soon to provide real pleasure in journey.

Cuts in TATKAL Fares and change in rules.

Now forget paying extra for the "end-to-end" journey and different charges peak and non peak period.
The good news has come for all the railway travellers about the TATKAL System of Indian Railways. The charges of Tatkal (immediate) tickets will come down by 10% of the basic fare for second class and 30% for basic fare for other classes from October 1. And you will have no need to pay "end-to-end" fare (from origin to end destination of a train). Just pay for the actual distance travelled by you. Also, there will be no different charges for peak and no peak period. There will be a uniform fare.

Mamta Didi:The new minister of Railways In India

I have come after a long time on this blog but I am glad that people still visit it. So, what new is happening in railways? It is a tough question as railway was almost quite and no new news was coming from the corridors of the ministry but what have come out is also a good thing. Indian railway has got a new minster and its time for our own Mamta Didi. She is a great leader. Hope she will lead the railway and provide more comfort to the passengers of Railway.
She is s different kind of person and she has started different things in railways after taking oath. What she is going to do different? She is going to take charge of the ministry not at the capital, she will take charge at its eastern office which in West Bengal. What next is,what we just can wait.

Bullet train in India. Do you think it's a good idea in current conditions?

Railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav is planning to launch Bullet Trains in India. In 1st look it seems to be a good idea. But I am afraid, in these current conditions of Indian railways, It's tracks and unmanned railways crossings, It is going to be happened soon or if before rectifying these problems bullet trains get launched one can easily get the idea what would going to be happened in near future. recent incident happened in Punjab alone tells the story where at unmanned railway crossing how a bus got stuck with a railway engine.

Old delhi railway station: a place of confusion.

I have to go to Old Delhi Railway station regularly to recieve my relatives. I always found conditions at there very confusing. There is a note on every reservation counter that all the tickets for all the stations are available at each counter but still people have to roam from one place to other.

Indian railways should increase it's safety.

Terrorist attackes at Mumbai rocked the world. Now it seems that the whole world has united against these attacks. But I believe that Indian should increase it's safety and policing at all major railway stations and trains. Cause as we have seen after mumbai train blasts, toll of victims can go above our expectations if these type of terrorists attack at our lifeline Indian Railways.

Why people attack on Indian railway while protesting anything.

You can easily blame Indian railway that it takes part in any demonstration or in any problem.. Reason an involvement of Indian railway in all these demonstrations. It does not directly involve but people involve it. Hence we can say Indian railway is in mid of each demonstration.
I never understand why people attack on railway while protesting anything. Whatever the problem is, from water to quota, from exam to rally. Indian railway gets hurt itself without involving directly in it. We call railway our property or Public property so how one can demolish or hurt own property.After all if it's our property if we regularly dig a hole in it how will it survive or it will get it's losses after increase of fair which'll directly impact on our pocket.
Why Indian railway doesn't ask demonstrators to pay for their losses because of these demonstration.

What we want in Indian Railway?

Just think a scene at a railway platform, a big crowd here and there, each one is waiting for his/her train, in between everyone comes near to the announcement speakers and try to listen announcement. May be this time announcer would announce about their train but all vain if announcer speak about their train announcement is such as " The train no xyz is running 2/4 hours late and will reach at the station at xyz time". These kind of things make people irritate and exhausted.And what if announcer say that your train will come 1 day late and you are waiting for your relatives for hours. Beside all facilities it is also required that all trains should run on time.

ज़रा सोचिये रेलवे स्टेशन के प्लेटफोर्म का दृश्य, भारी भीड़ यहाँ और वहां, हर एक अपनी ट्रेन का इंतज़ार करता हुआ,बीच बीच में हर कोई ध्यान से announcement सुनता हुआ के शायद अब हमारी ट्रेन के बारे में बताया जायेगा. पर सब बेकार अगर कुछ अन्नौंस होता भी तो ये के " xyz गाड़ी २/४ घंटे देर से आएगी". इस प्रकार की चीज़ें लोगों को बेहद परेशान करती हैं. ज़रा सोचिये अगर आप अपने रिश्तेदारों का इंतज़ार कर रहे हों और announcer कहे के आपकी गाड़ी १ दिन देरी से आएगी. जहां अन्य सुविधाओं के साथ साथ ये भी ज़रूरी है के ट्रेन अपने समय से चले.

Now you can dial 139 and can easily get railway info from railways customer care. And forget the long wait on call at it's old number. Here u can book tickets, can get PNR enquiry, train arrival-departure and other railway related info.
